The Story Behind the Song
Take A Chance was written during a season of my life where love felt both exhilarating and terrifying at the same time.
In the early days of my relationship with my wife, Alex, I was standing at that familiar crossroads, the moment where you can either protect yourself with doubt, or step forward with belief. I didn’t have certainty. What I had was trust, and that choice mattered.
This song became a way for me to capture that feeling: the quiet courage it takes to believe in something before it feels guaranteed. It’s about choosing love not because it’s easy, but because it’s worth the risk.
Years later, as a husband and father, the meaning of this song has only deepened. Take A Chance now feels like a snapshot of who I was becoming, someone willing to lead with faith, even when the outcome wasn’t yet clear.

Musical & Production Perspective
From the very beginning, Take A Chance was built around groove and space.
I wanted the verses to feel intimate and grounded, letting the story breathe without urgency. The chorus opens things up emotionally and sonically, as a reflection of what it feels like to lean into belief rather than hesitation.
One of my favorite moments comes in the bridge, where the track drops into a half-time feel and the vocals shift toward pad-like textures. That section was designed to feel suspended a pause where time slows and the weight of the choice really lands. The words "I promise you, I'll always be your guiding light..." are part of my vows I wrote and recited to Alex on the day of our wedding.
Throughout the song, the production stays intentionally vocal-forward. Every layer exists to support the lyric, not compete with it. My goal was to create a soundscape that feels warm, honest, and human, so that serves the story as much as the melody.

Closing Reflection
Take A Chance will always represent a turning point for me; a moment where I chose belief over hesitation, and trust over certainty.
Long after the release, the playlists, and the milestones, this song continues to remind me why I create music in the first place: to tell the truth, to connect, and to leave something honest behind.
If this song found you at the right moment, I’m grateful you took the time to listen.
